Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Melobesia is Melobesia membranacea (Esper) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pneophyllum subplanum (Rosenvinge) Y.M.Chamberlain ex South & Tittley.
