This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cryptonemia veleroae (Dawson) E.Y.Dawson.

Type locality: Outside the harbor of BahÃa Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico; (Dawson 1954: 262) Holotype: Dawson; Jan. 23, 1940; On bottom of broken shell and mud at depth of 12-20 m.; HAHF; Dawson 85-40 on sheet 34 (Dawson 1954: 263) Notes: Dawson (1944: 286) notes that the type specimen is located in Herb. AHF (no. 34).
