This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Characiopsis subulata (A.Braun) Borzì.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), subulate, awl-shaped, i.e., tapering from a narrow or moderately broad base to a very fine point (Stearn 1973).
