This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Coscinodiscus expectus VanLandingham.

Type locality: Langholmen, Baltic Sea; (Hasle & Lange 1989: 129) Notes: Sweden: east coast near Kungshann (INA). Neotype: IMBB 96, Tvärminne SW coast of Finland, 9 Feb. 1971 (Hasle & Lange, 1989: 129).
