Type locality: Bay of La Paz (off San Juan Nepomucens Island), La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico; (Woelkerling 1998: 354) Holotype: L. Diguet; 1894; PC; Heydrich no. 1, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym) (Woelkerling 1998: 354) Notes: Parts of the original collection are now in TRH and UC.
