Description: Rajaniemi et al. (2005): Trichomes free-floating, solitary, short or long, straight or coiled, cylindrical, slightly constricted or non-constricted at cross walls, up to 6 |am wide, clearly narrowed and pointed at the ends. Cells cylindrical, cell content finely granular and/or with facultative aerotopes; apical cells elongated, attenuated and acuminate, mainly colourless (hyaline). Heterocytes only intercalary, solitary, cylindrical or elliptical. Akinetes intercalary, solitary or rarely in twos, elongated ± cylindrical, distant from or aside heterocytes.
