Description: Thallus to 15 cm, alternately branched, flattened, smooth with distinct central axis, densely corticated. Axial cells each with 4 determinate branchlets initiated in alternating sequence, enclosed within cortication. Procarp terminal on short branch, carposporophyte with involucre of short flattened branches. Tetraspores tetrahedrally divided. Placed in Dasyphileae, Ptiloteae or possibly a new tribe. Taxonomic position awaits detailed study.
