Description: Multiaxial, mucilaginous, irregularly radially branched to 2 or 3 orders. Axes and branches terete, percurrent, tapering. Holdfast small, discoid. Hairs present. Dioecious. Four-celled carpogonial branch distally recurved; basal cell bearing sterile, branched filament. Fertilized carpogonium producing up to 5 connecting filaments. Auxiliary cell terminal on primary ampullary filament, which is branched to a single order. A single outgoing connecting filament is cut off incoming filament. Cystocarps of many small carposporangia produced in several gonimolobes. Carpostome present. Spermatania superficial. Tetrasporophyte isomorphic. Tetrasporangia small, cruciate, attached subbasally, scattered in cortex.
