Gender: This genus name is currently treated as feminine.

Comments: According to Jordan et al. (2005), the family Alisphaeraceae has possible affinities with the Syracosphaerales. Heimdal (1997: 754) records this genus as a member of the Order Coccosphaerales, Family Syracosphaeraceae.
