Description: Thalli flabellate, procumbent, subdichotomous, monostromatic, and up to several centimetres long. Growth initiated by a single wedge-shaped apical cell. Vegetative cells angular, rhombic in surface view. Cells with numerous discoid plastids and physodes. Reproduction only known by vegetative fragmentation and propagules and therefore assigned to the order solely on the basis of vegetative characters.
