Type locality: off SW end of Cubagua I., S of Isla Margarita, Venezuela (Gurgel et al. 2004: 164). Holotype: dredged off course black-sand bottom, 3.5-9.0 m depth. MICH W.R. Taylor-39-482 (Gurgel et al. 2004: 164). Notes: Isotype: US Alg. Coll-56501 (W.R. Taylor-39-482). Paratype: MICH (W.R. Taylor-39-479a);dredged off sand bottom, 3.5-9.0m depth, off SW end of Cubagua I., S of Isla Margarita, Venezuela.
