Type locality: Bermuda (Hoek 1969: 132). Type: 29.iv.1912; gravelly beach; on walls and bottom of a cave. L specimen no. HLB 937/71-273 (Hoek 1969: 132). Notes: Collins, Holden & Setchell, Algae of Bermuda in Phycotheca Bor.-Am. Nr. 2069.
North America: Florida (FL) (Dawes 1974).
South America: Brazil (Moura 2010).
