The type species (lectotype) of the genus Triceratium is Triceratium favus Ehrenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Amphitetras quadricornis (Greville) De Toni.

Type locality: "Woodlark Island, South Pacific ; in a dredging communicated by Dr. Roberts, of Sydney."; (Greville 1865: 103) Notes: Woodlark Island (Papua New Guinea).
