Type locality: Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand; (Womersley 1987: 109) Type: Lindauer; 6 November 1937; LD; (Womersley 1987: 109) Notes: "Algae Novae-Zelandicae Exsiccate" No. 86. Womersley (1987) notes that there are isotypes in other herbaria.
