The type species (holotype) of the genus Dasya is Dasya pedicellata (C.Agardh) C.Agardh.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Micropeuce feredayae (Harvey) Kylin ex P.C.Silva.

Type locality: "In the Tamar, at and above Georgetown, Mrs. Fereday, etc." [Tasmania]; (Womersley 2003: 255) Lectotype (designated by Womersley 2002: 255): W.H. Harvey; BM; Alg. Aust. Exsicc. 220 (Womersley 2003: 255) Notes: Womersley (2003: 255) "Type from the Tamar, at Georgetown, Tas. (Harvey, Alg. Aust. Exsicc. 220); lectotype in BM.". It would have been better to designate Alg. Aust. Exsicc. 220 in TCD rather than in BM.
