Type Information
Type locality: Black Sea at Bolshoy Utrish (44º44.75'N 37º23.4'E), south of Anapa, Russia; (Vershinin & Morton 2005: 245, 244) Holotype: Figure 1e (epitype) A. Vershinin; 6 September 2003; Coastal waters; mussel farm , 500 m offshore, depth 30 m; SEM; (Vershinin & Morton 2005: 245, 244) Notes: Isotype: Figure 1b-f.

General Environment
This is a marine species.

Description
Cells are armored, round in apical view, size 30-36 microns length, 33-43 microns width. Epitheca with apical horn and hypotheca round, are equal in size. Antapical spines are absent. Plate tabulation: Po, 4', 3a, 7", 4C (3+t), 6S, 5'",2"". The shape of apical plate 1' is meta, and the anterior intercalary plate 2a is hexa. Cingulum is equatorial, non-excavated, descending 1x cingular width, with cingular lists. Sulcus bordered with wide list. Thecal surface is reticulated.
