Type locality: Ad litus Scheuelingense prope Hagam comium e mari reiectum Cel. Pallas (Gmelin 1768: 181). Lectotype: Illustration in Gmelin (pl. 22: fig. 1) (epitype) (Irvine 1983: 14).
