Type locality: Java; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: A. Schmidt, 1875, pl. 25, fig. 8: (Danielidis & Mann 2003: 34, fig. 35) Notes: Blanco considers the figure of a single valve in Schmidt et al. (1874-1959: pl. 15: fig. 8) to be the holotype rather than the lectotype.
