Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Amphidinium is Amphidinium operculatum Claparède & Lachmann.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Apicoporus glaber (M.Hoppenrath & Okolodkov) S.F.Sparmann, B.S.Leander & M.Hoppenrath.
