Holotype: Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban, Scotland cryopreserved material of the authentic strain CCAP 222/52 (Krienitz et al. 2011: 103). Notes: Isotype: an air-dried and a formaldehyde-fixed sample of the strain CCAP 222/52, deposited at the Botanical Museum at Berlin-Dahlem (B40 0040683). Iconotype: Fig. 12 (Krienitz et al. 2011).
