Type locality: Scilly Isles, Enlgand (Batters 1900: 377). Type: E. George; June 1899, May 1900; "on Zostera, fringing the margins of the leaves with an almost continuous purplish-red border.". (Batters 1900: 377). Notes: Lectotype: BM (Saunders & Bird, 1989).
