Type locality: Lhanfaethly, Anglesey, Caernavon, Wales (Dixon & Price 1981: 138). Lectotype: Green; undated; OXF (Dixon & Price 1981: 138). Notes: Comments: the lectotype selected is also the lectotype of Conferva purpurascens Hudson (q.v.).
