This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gayliella masonii (E.Y.Dawson) Huisman
Type locality: Cabeza Ballena, Baja California Sur, Mexico (Dawson 1950: 126). Holotype: E.Y.Dawson 6756; 11 Mar. 1949; epiphytic on Galaxaura. LAM 500106 (HAHF 48796) (Huisman 2018: 418).
