The type species (holotype) of the genus Cylindrospermopsis is Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii (Wołoszyńska) Seenayya & Subba Raju.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Raphidiopsis helicoidea (Cronberg & Komárek) Aguilera, Berrendero Gómez, Kaštovský, Echenique, & Salerno.
