Type locality: "along with other algae in a mucilaginous mass in a puddle at Devarayi, Mysore State. Collected on 4th October 1952"; (Gonzalves & Kamat 1959: 236) Notes: Type preserved in the personal collection of the senior author (No. M. 11).
