Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Corallina is Corallina officinalis Linnaeus.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Halimeda opuntia (Linnaeus) J.V.Lamouroux.

Lectotype locality: Jamaica; (Hillis-Colinvaux 1980: 111) Notes: See Hillis (1959: 361) for further information on the lectotype locality of this species.
