This is a marine species.
Type locality: on North Pinnacle, of a "seamount" off N end of San Salvador Is., Bahamas [24º9.8'N, 74º28.6'W] (Bucher et al. 2014: 274). Holotype: J.N. Norris, S.M. Blair and D. Liberatore; 18.x.1983; 67-73 m depth, submersible dive. US Alg. Coll. 217965 (JSL-1493-1) (Bucher et al. 2014: 274, fig.1). Notes: Isotypes: US Alg. Coll. 217966; UC; MSM; MEL; ADU; BM.
