Type locality: Beautemps-Beaupre, Ouvea, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia; (Vieira et al. 2014: 1109: table 2 ) Holotype: C. Payri ; 21 March 2005; growing abundantly among Distromium sp. from -4 to-55 m on the outer reef slope; (Vieira et al. 2014: 1109: table 2) Notes: Holotype: IRD277.
