Type locality: Cadiz Valley, south of Highway 62, Joshua Tree National Park, San Bernardino County, California, USA; (Pietrasiak et al. 2014: 532) Holotype: desert soils; BRY; 37762 (unialgal population of the reference strain preserved in 4% formaldehyde) (Pietrasiak et al. 2014: 532) Notes: Isotypes: BRY37762 (unialgal populations of the reference strain dried on filter paper). Reference strain: WJT32-NPBGF; CCALA 1030.
