Type locality: Le Thevenn, Santec, Brittany, France; (Brodie & Irvine 2003: 117) Neotype: J. Cabioch; 25 June 1990; PC; (Brodie & Irvine 2003: 117) Notes: Isoneotype in BM (Brodie & Irvine 2003: 117). The original material, collected by Pierre Drach who collected the specimen on a blade of Laminaria hyperborea at 12 m from Primpel, Baie de Morlaix, Brittany in August 1948, cannot be located, accoding to Brodie & Irvine (loc. cit.).
