Type locality: Parry Island, Eniwetok Atoll, Marshall Islands; (Silva & al. 1996: 404) Type: 19 August 1955; growing within tufts of Ectocarpus breviarticulatus near the margin of the seaward reef opposite EMBL; Herb. Bernice P. Bishop Museum, Honolulu; E. Y. Dawson 13620a (Dawson 1962: 67)
