This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dictyota crenulata J.Agardh
Dictyota crenulata J.Agardh
Type locality: San Agustín, Oaxaca, Mexico (Silva & al. 1996: 588). Lectotype: LD 49049a (De Clerck 2003: 166). Notes: De Clerck (2003) notes that lectotypification was established by Nizamuddin & Gerloff (1979:867) who erroneously cited the specimen as LD 49042a. The specimen bears the number LD 49049a.
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), crenulate, having small rounded teeth (Stearn 1973).
