Type locality: Rivulet near Dumbryden Quarries (Rhode, Pappas & Stoermer 2001: 178). Holotype: BM 81187 (Rhode, Pappas & Stoermer 2001: 178). Notes: Freshwater, Scotland (Index Nominum Algarum). Rhode et al. cite 1820 (presumably collection date).
