Type locality: Tiefgrund, Melville Bay 74º 40' N, off the Devils Thumb. (Kaczmarksa & Jahn 2006: 153). Lectotype: 11 July 1850 (Penny's Expedition); Seabed. BM (Kaczmarksa & Jahn 2006: 153). Notes: Lectotype, as designated by Syverstsen and Hasle (1988), is their SEM pictures 4 and 6 from the original material, obtained from the Natural History Museum (BM).
