This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lithophyllum kaiseri (Heydrich) Heydrich
Type locality: Salinas Bay, near Guáncia, Puerto Rico (Woelkerling 1998: 309). Holotype: M.A. Howe; 29.vi.1903; NY Howe no. 2676 (Woelkerling 1998: 309). Notes: Isotypes: PC, Howe no. 2676, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym); L, 942.360-60; TRH, Howe no. 2676, includes one slide also numbered 2676. Paratype: PC, Howe no. 2193, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym).
