This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Devaleraea arctica (A.D.Zinova) Guiry
Syntype localities: "Insulae Novosibirienses, Spetsbergia et Groenlandia, zona sublitorali…" (Mikhaylova & Sokolova 2020: 1115). Lectotype: E. Korotkevitch; 3 IX 1947; cast ashore. LE A0000205 (Mikhaylova & Sokolova 2020: 1115). Notes: Lectotype locality: "New Siberian Islands, Kotelny Island, Nerpalakh lagoon". Syntypes: LE A0000208 and LE A0000209.
