Type locality: South Shetland Islands: King George Island: Collins Glacier (62 10 5.412S, 58 51 18.216W).; (Gálvez & al. 2021: 9) Notes: "Holotype: the strain is preserved permanently at 2?C at the Photobiology Laboratory of the Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia, Chile. It has also been deposited in the CCAP, based in Scottish Association for Marine Science near Oban, Scotland, United Kingdom4, under strain number CCAP 6/1. Figures 2, 3 show the morphology of the holotype."
