Lightfoot (1777: 988-989) cites Murray's (1774: 818) Conferva corallina, which is an illegitimate name (q.v.), and includes Linnaeus's (1753: 1166) Conferva corallinoides, so this name is not to be attributed to Lightfoot (Maggs & Hommersand 1983: 185). - (26 Oct 2010) - M.D. Guiry
