Type locality: Hawaiian Islands (Woelkerling 1998: 378). Holotype: collector not indicated; date not indicated; PC no. 49a, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym) (Woelkerling 1998: 378). Notes: Holotype fragment: TRH, no. 49a, includes slides 653, 654 and one unnumbered slide.
