Type locality: Isla Turner, near Isla Tiburón, Sonora, Mexico Holotype: AHF Dawson 739-40 (slides 029, 032, 033) (Dawson 1953: 26). Notes: Dawson (1944: 256) notes that the type specimen (D. 739) was collected on 18 July 1940, that it was found on Dictyota and that it is located in Herb. AHF no. 17.
