Nomenclatural note
Comaci, Furnari & Alongi (1921: 76) comment: "This species was described by Ercegovi%u0107 (1963: 46, fig. 6) (who gave also a description in Croatian at p. 11 and in French at p. 45), on sterile thalli collected at a depth of 70-80 m near the Island of Jabuka (Croatia). The name is invalid since the type was not indicated. After its description the species was no more recorded. Codomier (1972: 83) put forward the hypothesis it could be a species of Sebdenia. With reference to Ercegovi%u0107%u2019s (op. cit.) paper, this species was reported by Antolic et al. (2013: 52), by Ballesteros (in Coll et al., 2010: 122) among taxa inquirenda with the comment 'entity of uncertain taxonomic position' and by Athanasiadis (2016: 648) who listed it among incertae sedis of HALYMENIACEAE." - (10 August 2021) - M.D. Guiry
