Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pseudochnoospora implexa (J.Agardh) Santiañez, G.Y.Cho & Kogame.
Type Information
Type locality: "Lifuka, Friendly Island" [Tonga]; (Kützing 1859: 13) Type: Harvey; herb. Sonder; (Index Nominum Algarum) Notes: De Clerck (2003) notes that according to Silva et al. (1996: 625), D. obtusangula was based on a specimen distributed by Harvey, without a description, in his Friendly Island exsiccata (1857c: No. 59) under the name Chnoospora obtusangula.
