This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lithophyllum nitorum W.H.Adey & P.J.Adey
Holotype locality: Port Erin Harbour, Isle of Man, UK (Chamberlain & Irvine 1994: 81). Holotype: Adey & Adey; 3-9 m. USNC 70-10B, 10-30 (Adey & Adey 1973: 387).
