Crouan; February 1859; On Laminaria digitata; CO; (Chamberlain 1991: 70) Notes: Type: under herbarium name Melobesia lithothamnioides. Lectotype selected by Chamberlain (1991: 70).

Adjective (Latin), having pustules (Stearn 1973).
