This is a marine species.
Type locality: Sarge Bay, east side of Cape Leeuwin, Western Australia (Silva & al. 1996: 576). Holotype: Woelkerling; 16 November 1968; on Platythalia angustifolia, drift. ADU A34204 (Womersley 1987: 152). Notes: Womersley (1987) notes that there are isotypes distributed in "Marine Algae of southern Australia" No. 240.
