Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dictyota cervicornis Kützing.
Type Information
Type locality: Caribbean Sea or Senegambia; (De Clerck 2003: 174) Holotype: L; 936.289-158 (De Clerck 2003: 174) Notes: De Clerck (2003) notes that the specimen in the Herb. Kützing (L) matches the protologue and drawing completely except for the type locality. The original description mentions the Caribbean Sea while the type specimen states Senegambia as locality. No further evidence could be obtained to trace the correct locality.
