Type locality: Barker Rocks, Yorke Pen., South Australia; (Womersley & Johansen 1996: 303) Holotype: Womersley; 17 October 1989; On Posidonia sinuosa drift; AD; A59883 (Womersley & Johansen 1996: 303) Notes: Womersley (1996:303) notes that the type specimen was recorded growing on drift Posidonia sinuosa.

Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), very small; minute (Stearn 1973).

This is a marine species.

Habitat
On Posidonia sinuosa, Heterozostera, Myriodesma integrifolium and Amphibolis antarctica(Womersley & Johansen in Womersley (1996: 303).
