Holotype locality: Port Fairy, Victoria (Womersley 1996: 219). Holotype: Woelkerling; 4 January 1979; 0-1 m deep on rock. LTB 11724 (Woelkerling & Campbell 1992: 61).

General environment
This is a marine species.

Found in intertidal rocky pools and at depth of up to 2.5 m on rock or on the holdfast of the brown alga Ecklonia (Woelkerling & Campbell 1992: 61). On Ecklonia radiata (Womersley 1996: 219).
