Type locality: Rottnest Island, Western Australia (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 806). Holotype: Womersley; 6 September 1979; low eulittoral on platforms. ADU A50706 (Womersley 1984: 278). Notes: Womersley (1984: 278) notes that there are isotypes distributed as “Marine Algae of southern Australia” No. 233. Type locality: King Head, Rottnest I., W. Aust. (Womersley, 1984).
