Origin of Species Name
Participle B (Latin), with prostrate stems, the tips rising upwards (Stearn 1973).

General Environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
Plants appear to be exclusively epilithic and have been collected at depths ranging from 1.5 to 27 m (Huisman 1976: 105).
